Surface Science Western Director Mark Biesinger was recently awarded the ‘2022 American Vacuum Society (AVS) – Applied Surface Science Division Peter M.A. Sherwood Mid-Career Professional Award’. The award was presented to him at the AVS 68th International Symposium and Exhibition held in Pittsburgh, PA. The award recognizes achievements leading to exceptional progress in research and development made by professionals in their mid-career in an area of interest to the Applied Surface Science Division. With this award, Dr. Biesinger was recognized “for his innovative and pragmatic spectral analysis, pioneering thinking and formative contributions in the field of XPS”. Congratulations Mark!
